Hi Rudix,
Congratulations on your new airie.
I think she may turn out to be the equivalent of a bakkie of the skies and like a bakkie she will take abuse for many years without any signs of strain.
Yea put her back into the air.
Kind regards,
Gunter Rostek.

You must come visit sometime, Rhino is nice and busy these days !
I managed to sort out my new hangar/workshop, so I will be staying at Rhino, lots of things happening, watch this space for an announcement soon.......
Thanks, hope you are in the air again soon,
Fly safe,
Rudi

Yes, I think that is what she should be, looking at the structure I can see where the robust reputation comes from.
Took the first step just now to get the paper work sorted to get her in the air, should not be a problem.
Kind Regards,
Rudi

Re: New toy, or not......... YES !!
Thanks guys !
I have started cleaning and checking the plane, after getting rid of the dirt she actually looks quite good, not even a scratch or mark in sight !
The engine looks and feels fine, I will change all liquids and pipes and then run her. Next I need to mount the wings and have her inspected. There are no signs of damage or corrosion anywhere on the airframe, I must say after inspecting the plane carefully I now have a lot of respect for the Russian plane builders, the workmanship and quality of materials used puts most other planes I have seen to shame.
A few photos I took while cleaning the engine and fuselage.

The cockpit, it is quite roomy !

The engine and prop, the filters are still covered, at least everything was closed off before the plane was put in storage.

217 hours on the clock !

Clean and awaiting the wings
Will tackle that next, first I wanted to fly a bit, needed a reward for the hard work, WX was not perfect this weekend but still managed some airtime.
Will keep you updated on progress,
Fly safe,
Rudi

Hi Rudi,
Judging by the photos, you got the better end of the bargain.
That airie is more or less spotless.
Congrats on a fine purchase.
Kind regards,
Gunter Rostek.

Jeeslouis that is one tough looking plane.
Would be a crying shame to trash it, I think you've made the right decision there!
