See - the coast to coast video for what happened to Mike. Also we had a trike with narrow (Biscuit) tyres on the Wild Coast fly-away in June this year. The pilot let his tyres down and had nothing but 4 letter words to say about his beach landing experience - none of the 4 letter words was LOVE and he promised to not do it again!

None of the other trikes had even the slightest problem with the wide tyres and if you are not a heavy weight lad the smaller Raptor tyres have also been fine, in fact, even heavy lads with these small Raptor tyres(soft) have been ok if the sand is fine and hard. Where the beach has fine compacted sand, preferably below the high water mark, I suspect that even with narrow tyres you should be ok if you or a ground crew member of your team walk the beach beforehand to check that the beach sand is level and hard. The most problems arise where the beach has course sand such as I have found along the northern K Z-N close to Mozambique. Here even with wide tyres and with them let down the front wheel digs in before lift off - landings are fine.

Getting out with my daughter in the front seat, different!! Had a good morning with Gert and Fransois, the others from Wintervogel did not venture as far out as what we did. See Gerts log.
A female member to sort out the “aasvoels” perhaps?
Some bumpy stuff on the way back but no Thank heavens.
My instructions, open the flight suit zip, pull the suit away from you, puke in the gap !!!

All good in Sbok, not much flying on weekend though, the 'Tannie' and me only managed some 12 and 13 in morning. Had a good spin on friday evening. Lucas came to visit last weekend flew all the way on his own from AGG. Was good to see him.

Looking at the pic'c of you and daugter, a dream come true, to have your own chld in the front seat, will give anything to be able to convince mine to come. Good luck and teach her well.
