Cylinder to piston clearance rotax 503????

Postby nickjaxe » Tue May 22, 2007 9:52 pm

Hi guys got my 503 in bits at the moment on checking the piston to cylinder clearance the book gives a max wear limit of of 8 thou or 0.2mm just to get my head around this, is this total clearance or clearance per side on the piston, ie if it were per side of cylinder the max fig would be 16 thou or 0.4mm total which is it, as mine have at present a total clearance of 8 thou which may mean I need a re-bore.

Nick.

Total clearance Nick, allround.
Airspeed, altitude, or brains....you always need at least two
