Was this problem always there? Or a recent developement?

My money is on increasing the idle revs...

My 503 has got 480hr's on and you can smack the throttle open from idle, she doesn't miss a beat. The secret ? Set your idle to 2000 rpm.

It's actually on the map you put up, zoom in, right next to the tarred N7 in a N/S orientation (east of N7). Speak to Morph as well, maybe he need a lift? fly up to Nooitgedacht and we all fly from here to Carnarvon :P

Is this it? I am very keen to go to the Carnarvon fly-in but it is beyond my range without refueling so I would welcome a 'pit stop' along the way. Is this the strip?

Oops, Should be E 18 53 33. Here it is. More than welcome to stop over. Just give me a call beforehand to arrange for fuel, no problem.

I reecenlty had a very similiar problem.... idling- no problems, full RPM no problems........ accelerating from idle through the midrange- cough cough splutter splutter before it spooled up    .....

It turned out that the needles were not matched to the needle jets (11k2 needle with a 274 needle jet, needed a 270 needle jet) and the main jets were too small (150, should of been a 158). Had them properly matched and the change was huge, very brisk perky acceleration and plenty power- (this is a 503 single ignition flying on the highveld, 50-75l fuel onboard, one rooinek and one boer-seun so we cant afford any hesitations or splutters, power is not a problem anymore, acceleration is immediate)

If u need to apply a bit of choke to spool her up, you are running lean somewhere, either dirt/ wrong jets/ carb wear and tear..... best phone the agents for your optimal jets and settings.

Done everything. :? Put new needles and seats in,new fuel lines, spark plugs and filters Got the correct jets in. If I cut the throttle to idle 100 feet as approaching the threashold...should I need to apply power got a splutter problem no power  . So I have to approach with a bit of power say...2500-3000rpm to make sure that I got money in the bank! That now creates a power on landing which also sucks! Have been advised to check my my heads to see if they are sucking air. Does that make sense? Going to replace and fit new exhaust gaskets too. Other than cutting power on approach there are absolutely no problems whatsoever. I'm confused! :? :?
