Door gas lifts

Postby Boet » Fri May 11, 2007 7:55 pm

This `un is for all those frustrated Bushbaby owners out there. Those pesky gas lifts comes in only two models.
1 Pumped up so hard, you have to break/ bend something to get the door closed.
2 Not pumped up hard enough. Door will not stay up. ( Even considered feeding the dang thing a small blou pilletjie. Sorry, I am digressing  ) OR the sneaky f er has just enough pressure to juuuust keep the door up/open untill you start getting out. It then falls down on your head. Moermeters manne, moermeters.

I figured, there just HAVE to bee a better way. Something that wil not cost an arm and a leg. AND the damned door must stay open, or closed. This is what I cooked up. IT WORKS. The hell with the looks. It`s practical.

Good work Boet..nice looking too !!!!
My dear Fruitcake pal, Aerosusanna has made his own as well. Virtually the same as Boet's, except he somehow hid the springs inside the tubes. Works very well. It's either open or closed, just what you want.
He's busy making mine now....he just doesn't know it yet
Airspeed, altitude, or brains....you always need at least two

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.
