RIAAN MANSER'S NEXT ADVENTURE

Postby vernon11 » Mon Dec 02, 2013 1:56 pm

A lot of you know about Riaan's epic adventures. Now his latest. Him and Vasti, his fiancé, leave for Morocco on Wednesday. from there they will be rowing accross the Atlantic to end their journey in New York. 10,700kl in 120 days. Man that takes guts. There is a lot of info on face book. Take me to New York.

Cheers,
Vernon.

Hallo Nicow. When you consider the cycle trip around Africa, took two years, two months and two weeks. If I remember correctly. 34000kl The row boat trip isn't so bad.

You are right Riaan he is a mad man,,,, two years ago I build for him a 15meter insulated trailer put a fridge on it set the temp to minus 18 which he lived in it for a week .... There was a cornered off section with a shower toilet and a single bed where he slept for 5 hours a day .... This trailer was putted by a truck from Durban to Cape Town with him in it... (**) (**) puff (-) you can say that again this man has got guts

But what a pleasure man to deal with and a heart of gold....

Robbie.
Riaan is like a second son to us. Him and my son grew up together in Richards Bay. the three of us spent a lot of time surfing, and yes a gentleman and a heart of gold.
Yes I remember the trailer. I have a couple of pictures with us in it with him here at Shelly Beach. If I recall, it was set for minus 21. When we were inside it was registering minus 11, because of the door been repeatedly opened and closed.
Have you read any of his books?
Cheers,
Vernon. (^^)

Riaan and Vasti are at the Canary Island. On Wednesday strong winds prevented them from going any further.

Vernon,

We should get Riaan to do an adventure in a trike, what that is a good question ? Put the ball in his court and see what comes out.... ?

Hi Robbie.
Riaan, and I have been talking since his Madagascar adventure, about him doing something in Aviation. In fact, the night before they left for morocco, he phoned to say cheers, and we got onto talking about a flying adventure. So who knows!!
On the 25th this last month, he phoned my son Troy, from the Bahamas to wish him on his birthday. He said they were really battling with raw butts and a lot of sores on his hands. He has about another month to go. WHAT GUTS those two have.
Cheers
Vernon.
