I do not understand the Co-ords given above. I also went to the interactive map on VFR planning site and the co-ords does not make sence to me.

I must be stupid.!!! **

Oom Paul,

just add a - to the start of those co-ords, and put them into google maps as they are, and you will find the right place... without the - at the start, they put you somewhere in egypt...

Cheers

Oom Paul. just remember if flying from the coast you need to land on the right rand side of the on- coming traffic side, between the highway and the Ulta city. :)

Dear Bundy
the authority will always protect there "confidentiality clauses" just imagine them telling you what is going on and you spread the word ... where will the money come from if the Pilots stop doing the """wrong""" things ?!?
the landing next to ultra cities has been common practice for many years and now all of a sudden it is illegal. the placement of the co-ords and contact details does indicate that it used to be exceptable. unfortunately we will have to except (like we always do) that oppression is now reversed :(>

Sout, the matter was resolved amicably with both the pilot in question, CAA Enforcement and the operator of the Ultra City.

As I posted earlier...
Okay chaps... here is the news you have been waiting for vhpy

The strip used for landing at the Shell Ultra City N3 Escourt is on PRIVATE PROPERTY..... and YOU MAY LAND THERE!

The owners appreciate the recreational pilots continued patronage...

The following needs to be adhered to. It is unlicenced & unregistered strip. It is noted in the Electronic Airfield Directory as a Cat C field and suitable for microlights.

It is un-manned and therefore those procedures are to be adhered to.

You land at your OWN DISCRETION so Shell or it's management will not be held liable for anything.

The owner of the land reserves the right to withdraw the privilege you as microlight/LSA pilot has to land there and will surely prohibit this if CAR's are contravened
You may not taxi onto the tar or to the pumps - under no circumstances - you will then be guilty of an offense - I do believe the tar is regarded as public roads!

Normal refueling safety precautions need to be adhered to and if you can - NO RUNNING ENGINES, fire extinguisher close at hand, NO SMOKING etc.

It is Forecourt fuel and sold as such - use a Raco Funnel or better still, someone donate one to the owner of the ULTRA City to use when filling up there.
LSA, microlights and Gyro's can land there... no problem!

Brian Eminis was the culprit that bust the pilot...

If that pilot and the plane can land and takeoff in short spaces then whats the problem. There is a windsock and the land owner accepts people landing there...

Land at your own discression...

Would someone be so kind as to point out the 'airstrip'?

Where exactly is it?? :?
