Airfield near Roodeplaat Dam

Hi All,

Is there any airfields near or around Roodeplaat dam? We fly a Sling and need about 600 to 800 meters?

Any help would be appreciated.

Weet van 'n privaat strip naby roodeplaat. Hendrik van sand en klip se grond, het sy besonderhede sal by hom uitvind, het n paar jaar gelede 'n lelike ongeluk met ay 206 daar gehad, weet nie of die strip nog bestaan nie. Anders FAWB, Baie naby

Hendrik se baan is baie mooi, land gereeld daar. Daar hanger 2 C210, Gyro's, Trike, Tunderbird of twee en daar is twee splinter nuwe Ibus vliegtuie wat nog aanmekaar gesit moet word.

Daar is net groot kragdrade aan die Ooste kant van die baan :!: :!: :!:

Chris dit was Hendrik se C210 wat daar verongeluk het :(

Close to Bronkies Dam is RhinoPark and Zynkraal, easy for a sling to land and runway is tar.

Close to Roodeplaats Dam is Pretoria Highway Airstrip, close to Rooiwal ... Gravel Strip but what a long and wide runway. Next to the N1

Could you guys maybe provide coordinates for the above mentioned runways?
Do you need WB ATC clearance to land there (within Wonderboom TMA?)

Hi

Rhino Park - 25°50'0.49"S 28°32'24.99"E
Aeropark Zynkraal - 25°54'10.50"S 28°32'49.18"E
Freeway - 25°28'23.91"S 28°17'21.91"E

W.r.t. clearance I assume you're referring to Freeway? If so it's not in the FAWB CTR and it's right in between FAD127 (GF) and FAR171 so I guess it's freq is 124.8 (but probably safe to listen/xmit intentions on 124.4 as well)?

Freeway strip is in PTA GF 1 so freq 124.4 I know freeway is a private strip. The fawb guys just practice there. Not sure if one is allowed to land and park there. Best bet will be to contact fawb tower and ask them
