Aviation Trivia!!

Postby John.com » Wed Mar 21, 2012 9:37 am

To those many aviation friends, many of whom I am still to meet!

If you are anything like me you will be constantly scouring the web for information that we can learn by or that is of 'general interest'!

In so doing you, again like me, probably come across 'aviation trivia' . . . . . stuff that might not be 'essential reading' but is still either interesting or humourous!

So I figured, why not share it HERE?

And, if I may be so bold as to start . . . . . YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS!!!! http://www.newairplane.com/flighttracker/

The Boeing Flight Tracker!!

If you’re fascinated by anthills, Boeing’s new flight tracking system is definitely for you. The Boeing Flight Tracker shows Boeing airplane activity around the world during a 24-hour period based on data provided by OAG (Official Airline Guide). The displayed flights are not in real time. The current data is based on information collected in February 2012. But it’s interesting to watch as the concentration of flight activity moves from the Asian region to Europe and eventually to the United States. And it’s mind blowing to consider that all the tiny yellow dots are all heavy airliners, each carrying large amounts of people.

The flight tracker shows Boeing airplanes that are currently in production, 737s, 747s, 767s and 777s, with the exception of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which will be added at a later date. You can choose to see all Boeing airplanes simultaneously or each model separately. It’s as mesmerizing as watching the flames of a fire.

For example . . . . select 737's and watch the domestic flights taking off, routing and landing between our domestic routes!!!

I hope you enjoy it!!

OK, so I've shown you mine . . . . . vhpy

Safe Skies! (-)

Couldn't you count the dots?

Total Boeings? Mmmm . . . . not sure!

737s : According to Boeing, there are 5,424 737s still flying today with 358 airlines in 114 countries.

Do you know the answer and were simply playing aviation trivia quiz master??

Cheers,

John

Wow...that is just amazing. I wonder how does the amount of Boeing aircarfts compare to that of Airbus.
