Tribute to Andre Botha

Postby lefssa » Tue Feb 22, 2011 12:53 pm

A small tribute to Andre Botha who passed away on Wednesday. He got up to go fly impalas. (it is out old fighter aircraft) he just collapsed and died. If it had happened 3 hours later he would have been flying as an instructor in the impala training Gabonese pilots. He passed his medical two weeks earlier.

He was the Chief Instructor of Leading Edge Flight School. He had only one rule, do it correctly or not at all. Kept me on the straight and level.

In the words of Colonel Riaan Combrink he was one of the best fighter pilots he has had the pleasure to work with. He will be sorely missed in Hoedspruit and the aviation community has lost one of the best.

Rus in vrede Andre
Ek het in Augustus 'n deeglike vliegtoets by hom ondergaan. Self met 29 se vliegondervinding het ek steeds iets by hom geleer. My meegevoel met almal vir wie hy lief en dierbaar was.
