Ah Gert, we fly so much they even gave us our own frequency and flying area.

What happened to all the flying guys at Wintervogel. I know two moved to Morningstar, one to FASH, Graham took EAF to some plattelandse dorpie. One I hear stopped flying altogether.

Barry is about the only regular flyer still at Wintervogel?

Yes, I start flying a bit later, but used to catch the Wintervogelaars on their return trips before. Now zero, zilch.

Ok Gert here is the story

Trygve, still fly as usual, not every weekend and sometimes during the week.
William and John Oldnall, as usual, maybe once a month but they tend to do longer x-country trips from time to time.
Barry, fly regular, during the week and weekends.
Francois, not flying regular at all due to circumstances, trike for sale.
Leon, only fly when in Cape Town, often residing in Namibia or Komati Poort for extended periods.
Myself, fly every weekend but not during the week.
John, moved to Namibia, no longer at Wintevogel.
Graham, took his trike to the Kimberley area as he is working there.
Klaas, moved to Altona, will be returning to Wintervogel, he only flies some weekends.
Shane, moved to Morningstar.
Dick, fly weekends but shares it between Wintervogel and Saldanha.
Patrick, fly weekends and also fly a gyro from Fisantekraal thus not always at Wintervogel.
Hubert, fly from Wintervogel only when on contract in Cape Town.
Grumpy (Fides), fly every weekend and sometimes during the week.
Jonathan, can't fly trike regular, full time helicopter pilot, away most of the time.
Hans, sold his trike and stopped flying.

Two new members joined recently, one with a Bantam and another with a trike.

So, althought the squadron gaggle flying has stopped somewhat, Wintervogel remains active and alive with everyone flying at their own pace and time. The Cape Trikers thing was initiated from this by Grumpy, the idea is to involve everyone from other airfields and fly on short notice to the same strip for a chat and coffee or what what.

Also, anyone looking for a longer X-country I am at Aurora every second weekend (incl this Saturday). Free pickup service at airport, no landing frees, coffee plus available. Just buzz the town.

Weather looks ok for Sunday 17th. What about getting the microlighters together for a trip to Aurora? Grumpy? If weather improves for Saturday we can always bring it forward. Lets take up Gert on his offer.
