I Have just returned from the meeting with the Swartkop manne. The rules are as follows:

Aircraft that are flying in from the EAST must contact Waterkloof ATC to be routed through the Pinedene corridor. Once Waterkloof has passed you on to Swartkop you must follow their instructions. If no answer from SK please route to SK via the OLD JOHANNESBURG Rd to SK.

Aircraft that are flying in from The West must route to SK via the Shell Ultra City along OLD JOHANNESBURG Rd to SK. Please follow the ATC instructions

Swartkop ATC will go on duty at 07:30. Any aircraft that arrive at the airfield BEFORE 07:30 are required to join at 5700ft-6300ft and conform to the circuit as follows:

Runway 20 Righthand circuit
Runway 02 Lefthand circuit.

Please be aware that landings before 07:30 MUST expedite unmanned procedures. All calls relevant to your position in the circuit MUST be made.

Capt Kirsten at ATC has assured me that they will be kind to us regarding the landing and takeoff procedures and be Less rigid.

Tel no's: ATC Swartkop 012 351 2115
Waterkloof 012 672 3251

Frequencies: Swartkop 123.2
Waterkloof 124.1

Fly safe everyone and lets make this a day to remember for all the good reasons

Gates will open at 06:30

Les

What about a S&R presentation for all flying in? This is from where we fly Gauteng S&R's with the airforce? Heksie?

Schedule the S&R for 8am and we all depart afterwards? Awesome chance with 72 attendees!

Oh 8 two 848 five368

This is going to be an awesome sight and I wish we had this kind of response down here in the Cape for events like this.
I am envious and look forward to some awesome photographs and video's.

Is this not perhaps going to be a South African (perhaps All African?) record for the number of microlights together at one fly in?
Well done!

The time is getting short but why not schedule an S&R briefing for 08:00-09:00 then all depart afterwards? I have been on some S&R flights and I think the info and experience is invaluable.

I do not want to impose on the S&R team's schedule but this is an ideal opportunity for us to stand as one and learn...

For those of you who are used to landing on grass and dirt strips remember this is tar and the wheels grip a lot more. There is no give or slide as on grass. Just a cautionary word to bear in mind so that the day is uneventful. Have a great day (^^) (^^) (^^)
