I’m interested to do this event and fly to Namibia. Either with my JK-09 (105mph) and fly in two days or Thunderbird microlight (60 mph) and fly there in three days. I would like to fly the Brandberg trip as well and if there are any interest, we can extend our stay with a few more days.
If anyone is interested please phone or pm or just do it right here and let’s start with the arrangements. If not I will consider to fly alone.
I think it would also be better if we can move this thread to Flying Events instead of Hanger talk.

Hi JJJ, I would love to do this trip, will be flying in my 701 Skyjeep (85mph). I cant commit right now, but we can start talking. I first need to monitor the progress of my little 6 week girl (and her mother), before i can make a final decision. And maybe i can get a Savannah to join and perhaps an orange funny looking trike kind of thing......who goes by the name Cobra on this forum xxx . This will be a FANTASTIC trip. If a few of us go up together we can take it nice and slow and have some great fun. (^^)

Hi Massimo
Sound great. Hope you can make it past the wife and little one. The plan is to fly to Swakop in two days and two days back. I can fly 85/90 easily so no problem. The trike must just not be a 503 or 582. Too slow. From Swakop we join Skysketch and the others on to Omaruru. We can extend the trip if you which and do some flying around the Desert and Fish river canyon on the way back. I will fly alone as I need to carry about 25 litres fuel. I fly from Vanderbijlpark. Skysketch promised to mail me the necessary forms to apply for a permit for Namibia.
How long before you will know?

Me just been wondering , what is the chance of renting a Windlass or some other Trike there , It would be quick to get there by BMW 1100 GS , and then have some fun before returning , done it in 2007 Desert Run ???? Leprachaun

I can organize you something! Will phone Dawid tomorow and then I will let you know! Why don't you try and hitch a ride with one of the guys coming up? We have a HUGE hanger at Omaruru filled with trikes so I am sure there will be one for you!

Sounds good, so we should allow for approx 8/9 days in total? I fly from tedderfield at the moment. Will also fly alone for extra fuel and luggage. I would say by end July i can give you and answer. I flew to Upington a few months back and that took 6 hrs one way. I will do some easyplanning in the mean time and send you a pm with my contact details.
