How many microlights?

Can anybody give me an idea of just how many micrloights there are actively flying in this country. More or less would be fine.
If we can split it into weight shift and fixed wing please.Cheers

Presently their are just over twothousand microlights /LS1 type aircraft on the register
1600 trikes - 220 fixed wing and the balance are Ls1 type ( various types

Thanks man. That was the figuers i was looking for. Still battling to try and get our planes insured at cheaper rates! I will not rest.
