EAA National Convention / Vryheid Fly in

The Vryheid Wings Club , will be hosting the Experimental aircraft associations national convention from the 27th to the 29th of April at the Vryheid airfield . Everyone is welcome to attend , EAA Members and non Members are welcome . Camping is available on the airfield and shuttles have been arranged to town to get to local BNB s . We have confirmed the attendance of the Good year eagles aerobatic team .

Flight will depart from Rand Airport on Friday 27th April and return Sunday 29th April. This is a long weekend - so no excuse you have to work!

- Pitts aerobatic team (Goodyear Eagles) will do a display on the Saturday
- L39 Jet to attend
- Airtractor 802 and two 602 s to attend
- Hotair balloon flights available

- DC 3 Dak flights available from Rand at a donation of R 1250 –

Rent-a Tent option is also available. On arrival you will find your tent pitched and equipped with airmattress, sleeping bag and pillow. Price is R650 per person single for the weekend and R440 per person sharing. This offer is also available to pilots flying their own aircraft to the convention. Tents are limited - book yours early to avoid missing out!

A surface high pressure is expected over the southern half of the country. This implies that low-level wind blowing in towards Vryheid is likely to come in from the west, where it dries out over land and supports clear skies.
