Lekoa Lodge 17-19 March 2012

We are planning a trip to Lekoa Lodge for 17 - 19 March 201. All welcome

The plan was to take 19&20 off as 21 March is a public holiday and go from Saturday to Wednesday. Unfortunately I forgot about school so it will be to Lekoa on Saturday and back Monday morning. Knowing the current school system they will probably declare the monday and tuesday public holidays the week before.

Anyway. Lekoa lodge (http://www.lekoalodge.com) is about 70 miles from Microland close to Villiers and the Vaal Dam. Very nice place to take the family with. Indoor and outdoor swimming pool and restaurant. They have 6000 Hectares available for 4x4 and off-road biking, river fishing, etc. Chalets and camping accommodation is available. A single Chalet is R900 per night and can sleep 4 people.

Take-off at 06:00B from Microland on Saturday 19 March. Come join us for breakfast or stay for the weekend. Please make your reservations directly with Lekoa Lodge.

i am keen to join from kliprivier...I can meet up with you guys south of heidelberg en route to Lekoa...I will see if Madman and Tailspin and Percy are keen to join as well...

You taxi your trike from the runway (quite an exercise, but do-able), and park inside the lodge. Lekker. No worries at night - you can go and check your trike 10 times a night (like I tend to do!!)

During the early evening, the girlfriend of a blik pilot that arrived in the afternoon asks you if it is your trike standing next to the lapa. You say yes. She tells you that you must buy a real airplane. You shrug and say that at least you can drive your airplane to within 30 metres of your chalet, and you don't need to phone people to come and collect you at the airfield. She gets a look on her face like someone who just got the shits, and walks to the bar. You smile an inner smile and re-affirm your love for trikes.

Excellent!! We can arrange to meet at Heidelburg airfield as an option. Always easier than meeting in flight

Sound GREAT! I think I will fly with you from Microland on the Saturday morning and return either Sunday or Monday morning very early. Monique and the kids can dive through.

I do not think I have seen worse than Amphitheater Lodge. Almost a kilometer through mud, over a stream and then the small gate !!

I have now booked a chalet for 17 March at Lekoa. I need to come back on Sunday morning. Monique and the kids will be driving through and I will jion all of you from Microland the morning of 17 March. I will just follow Bugwar, Astrix and who ever is flying from ML on what ever route you wish to take to Lekoa. It is going to be a GOOD ONE!
