Microland Fly and Braai 24th March (Cancelled)

Hey all,

I am planning to have our monthly Fly and braai on the 24th of March.

Same story as last time. Early morning flight, route to be decided. Take off time 06h45.

To Bring: Snacks for the morning, braai meat and sides for lunch, cooldrinks and beverages, cuttlery for yourself. A chair if possible.

Coffee will be supplied in the Morning, as well as the braai fires later on. We normally start the fire at 10h30.

All pilots, their families and friends are welcome, If it's too far to fly then drive

Procedures are unmanned, Frequency 120.35, Runway 400m long 21/03. Wires on approach for 03!!! All circuits to the east, report overhead at 6200ft, circuit altitude is 5700ft. Field elevation 5310ft. Please be aware that training will be in progress, if there are more than 4 aircraft in the circuit, I reccommend you orbit until there is space.

When we turned, and I saw that cloud rolling in from Petit's side and started creeping around it to make Microland it seriously took me back to Aug 2008 when I actually DID get caught in it.. Those who know the story will tell you - that is where one of my nicknames, "Tjankgat James" comes from... It is the Hand of Death!!

Why do you think I didn't want to fly again on Saturday? I was shaken dude.

Bugwar told me later in the morning that he could here in my voice on the radio as I called to hear what conditions were like at ML that I was not in a happy place..

Hey Stef... "I wasn't scared"... I was shaking a little - brrr it was chilly up there... ok - ok - I was a little nervous.. but I believed we were ok; I trusted you; and James... so I reckon it was a major adrenalin pump.... you did well...

Hi all, in light of this weekends accident, I have decided to cancel the braai on 24th March. Just not feeling up to it I'm afraid.
