Telephonic ATIS

Hi there guys,

The Avcom guys are running a thread on telephonic ATIS numbers (FAJS 011 928 6461). Does anyone know if Rustenburg, Brits or Wonderboom has this service. The problem with flying North of Harties is the weather can be totally different to the South.

cross_wind, Brits hasn't got one. The closest you will get is to visit the iweathar (note the 2nd "a" in the spelling) website. Weather station situated over SA and mostly supported by Paragliding, Hanggliding and outdoor sports clubs. For R29.00 a month you can also subscribe to get the info on your phone.

This specific one is on the Magaliesberg at the old Cable way.

Thanks - I have been disappointed by the forecasts on SA Weather (the aviation site) for the past few weeks. The METAR and TAFS always show ////// and I don't really know what I am in for until I get to the field.
