From Petit it is about 1 hour 50min. flying time with a trike..I have done it many times..Put your radio on Boss once you have left Joburg Special rules and whala..Just the thing for beginners who want to break away from cicuits around the cabbage patch..On your return you can either fly back via the Loskop dam or alternatively via the Rhenosterkop and Rus de Winter dams..(if you are from the East Rand)
Pilots who want to stay overnite can do so at R250. Included will be a braai later the evening and coffee and biscuits to see you of on Sunday morning...
A bakkie will be available for fuel and transport.
This breakfast will offer you the opportunity to meet some of the local microlight pilots from Groblersdal.
It will also give you the opportunity to view a hanger and two adjoining bush huts that will come up for renting in the course of next year.

Hi Blue Max,
I'm in if the weather and CAA permits.
My application for the Mod has been submitted now just have to wait for them... hope it arrives in time.
I'll try and find other guys here at Microland to come with.
Due to the distance I guess the weather will be the determining factor.
We should have an idea by the 18th what the weather may be like - your cut-off date.
Which weather site do you normally use - all of the ones I consult give me different forecasts - and then the reality...

Hi JCH>Yes weather permitting. The saweather website have not dissappointed me in the past..Browse under Groblersdal and Johannesburg to make sure..Also phone me..Once you know what the weather will be and ad to that your own observations will give you confidence for the flight.
