Witbank to Middelburg Trainrace ***CANCELLED***

The Flying Ducks Middelburg Microlight Club is camping at Middelburg Airfield 21 - 22 August for the annual Witbank to Middelburg Train Race. The runners start at 6:00.

Everyone is welcome!! We will be camping at the field on friday and take-off saterday morning (as early as possible) to fly over the runners.
The event is self-catering. We will be having a braai on friday night and then after saterday's flight, there will be a breakfast. Breakfast @ R20 for non-member. Anyone who wants to join the Flying Ducks Microlight Club, please contact Hester.

Please be careful! Everyone and his dog wants to fly over the runners during the train race creating quite a congestion. There are are TV choppers, organisers' choppers as well as Oom Koos with his Cub/Jabi/Cessna! I'm staying far away thanks!

Hi Jana,

We will have a safety meeting before anyone is allowed to take-off at Middelburg.

We thought to have a lot of aircrafts in the air with the Loskom marathon but we where the only ones in the air.

Hi H, did not mean to hijack your thread, however I've seen the train race and all the air traffic from a chopper before, so I'm speaking from experience. Hope you have a great time, and the weather's good, enjoy it!
