Gauteng Starter/Master Microlight Champ: 23-24 May 2009

Postby Jetman » Mon Apr 13, 2009 7:39 pm

Hi Guys ,

The Gauteng Rookie/Master Microlight Championships is been held at the Bapsfontein airfield on the 23 and 24 May 2009.

The Evening of the 22 May 2009 will be registration. Fee = R400.00 per person. The main purpose of this competition is to introduce competition flying at a very basic level to all microlight pilots. You can fly with your wife/ girlfriend /friend /son/daughter/ instructor ect. as your navigator. The first official task briefing will be held that same evening(22 May). The intention is to fly a minimum of two comp tasks daily and finish on the Sunday. If all goes to plan we should be able to have a prize giving/trophy hand out and a good braai the Sunday.

All the planning and effort will be wasted if the instructors do not motivate participation .This is the perfect platform for all instructor and pilots to enhance there knowledge and really get to know and understand there aircraft.

Please support the sport we all love and enter or encourage other pilots to enter. If you're not sure what competition flying is all about or if you have any queries, please phone me(Hendrik Loots) 0n 083 2550 639). For entry details you can phone me on the same number.

Regards
Hendrik Loots aka Skin

I spoke with Mervyn Reynolds today and he spoke with Hendrik and this is on as planned. Mervyn will be holding a workshop on Wednesday 29/04/09 at Microland Lapa at 19:00. All welcome but he would like a number of attendants. Could you please let Mervyn know via sms 0832356402. You should also let him know if you need knee boards. Two is needed...one for the map and one for the photos. Larry could also be contacted as he manufactures the knee boards on 0824101532 or 0114520663 vhpy

Everything is still going to plan. Entries still rolling in with the following as confirmed: 1. Larry and navigator 2) Flippie and navigator 3) Gerhard and navigator 4) Peter and navigator 5) Henk and navigator 6) Mervin and navigator 7) Brett and navigator 8) Jacques and navigator 9) Tony and navigator 10) George and navigator 11) Steven and navigator 12) Hendrik and navigator 13) Pieter and navigator. I also beleive thats there are other pilots that entered that I'm not aware of at this moment. Well done guys!!! (^^) and still going.

We want to ask our fellow pilots to come and support your mates during this competition. Come and cheer them on in the spot landings, come see how they prepare for the tasks or just come and drink something cold with them.

We still want more people to enter. This competition is a perfect platform to gain some confidence in basic flying skills and therefore a MUST for every pilot. See you there!!!
