HANGER AND RUNWAY DREAM PROJECT.

You only stop dreaming when you are an (-)
I came across a neglected farm with one huge store and two other smaller ones plus a two bedroom flat which were advertized for sale by auction.!
It was towards the end of November 2014, when everybody was busy with their Christmas-parties.
The advertisement was smallish and there were two other properties on auction in that area the same day.
Luck was with me as I was the only person in attendance.! I discussed a ridiculous offer with the auctioneer which he agreed to take to the liquidator of the estate.
Long story, short: I am now the owner of a 26 HA small farm 12 KM east of Bapsfontein.
An adventurous restoration job lies ahead.
I have already started and will post some pics as I progress.!!
Maybe you can guess what is going through my head.?

Ek het vandag boorgat-pyp, klas 6 gaan koop om die boorgat toe te rus.
Gelukkig het ek n pomp.
Dan was ek ook by Eskom en het aansoek gedoen vir krag want die kabel is gesteel.
Een van die eerste dinge wat gaan gebeur is n ' brandstrook van 800x30 meter wat reg voor die huis geskraap gaan word.
Dit lyk asof die mees gelykste helling omtrent op 35/17 sal wees.

Die lewe gaan aan.
Ironies dat n mens werk aan n droom wat maande neem om klaar te maak terwyl n ander persoon se droom verpletter word in n oog-wenk.!
Dit is die verloop van die lewe en daarom kan ons nie stilstaan oor die tragedies wat daagliks rondom ons afspeel nie.
Eendag sal ons alles verstaan.
Die belangrikste diens op n perseel is nie krag nie, maar...WATER, daarna riool (waste) afvoer en dan krag.!
Werk vorder stadig.
Boorgat en tank R10,000. Evkom R24000. Herstelwerk aan verbetering nog onbekend.
Vandag water in die woon gedeelte gelewer.!!What a pleasure, nou kan n ou die toilet flush.!
Vir more het ek die dienste van n padskraper bekom om n ' brandstrook van 700 meter' te skraap. Droe tarief R4800 per dag plus vervoer.!!

Things seldom work out the way you plan it.
In regards to the cost involve and also the length of the fire brake.!!
Distance is only 340 meters. It lies on 30 and 12.
There are powerlines about 60 metrs further west from the holding point at 12. Please be carefull if you come to have an early feel of the place.! I have not yet put markers onto the powerlines.
The approach on 30 will be the popular one with no obsticles.
Jislaaik maar n ou moet mooi op jou hoede wees vir dodgie grader eienaars.!!! Amper soos met boormanne.!!
Eers wanneer dit te laat iskom jy agter hoe die bedryf werk.!!
Nog ver van klaar.!!

Baie geluk met die vordering Paul !

As jy sê 12km oos van Bapsfontein, dan is dit seker naby die Welbekend -Bronkhorstspruit pad kruising?

Va Bapsfontein op Delmas pad 12 KM. Draai links 1 KM en jy is daar.
Ek sal ko-ordinate pos sodra ek onthou om my GPS saam te vat. Miskien kan ek dit van my selfoon kry.?
More begin ek om n hek te maak sodat n ou van die Runway af tot by die huis kan taxi.

Ek is teleurgestel met die lengte van die runway. 330 meters. Maar ek het pas op U TUBE gesien dat die lengte van die kortste internasionale runway op aarde is net 390 meters. So ek voel heelwat beter. vhpy vhpy

do you have GPS cor's ? if so please post would love to view it on a morning flight...
