This morning bright and early, with the Zen packed to capacity, Tinkerbell departed Kitty Hawk for the Otjiwarongo fly-in on Saturday, weather permitting as the weather up north looks 50/50 at the moment. So hopefully she will be able to complete the 2000 mile round trip.

If you are bored you can view her progress at http://www.greenalp.com/RealtimeTracker ... Tinkerbell

She will also post some updates on https://www.facebook.com/altairaviation as and when she gets time.

Jacques, yes she landed back at Kitty Hawk very windgat with a greaser of a landing.
The flat tyre at Jwaneng did delay her a bit today, but fortunately Piet Meyer was there to help and they changed it.

Tinkerbell, I am very proud of you for doing something like this on your own, from planning, organizing, arranging flight permits, etc, etc. From day one I though you were crazy to tackle something like this on your own, but I saw how determent you were to do it and you did it, well done. You are an amazing women and gyro pilot.

Again to all the people that assisted her on the way with advice, petrol arrangements, changing flat tyres and just giving her support on facebook, via sms, via the greenalp tracker, etc, you won't now what it meant to her. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Hope Tinkerbell is up bright and early as we can see the flight is not over yet..... looking at those tail rudders, that Gyro still needs a wash and the weather looks perfect!
Waiting on all those pretty pictures she took during the flight..

I like to concur with MAK, well done for doing this alone!!

How is the infrastructure over the borders compared with SA?
