That game of darts...

The Chinese flying dart was a stealthy weapon that could easily be concealed in a monk's robes. Exactly five inches long with NO FIN OR TAIL components, It was designed so that when thrown it would not spin, greatly IMPROVING it's ACCURACY. The Chinese martial artists had two uses for it: They could either throw it with a flick of the wrist or they could grasp it in the palm of their hands so that it would it stick up from between the fingers, and punch with it. The throwing option would have been preferred as there were plenty of other, better weapons that could be used in close combat.

Seams like you dont need the "feathers" at all

Think you missed the "whole" sentence....

As were it says " the Throwing option would be prefered"

The flying chinese dart.....

Let just get back on track and stick to the flying part...dont think the dart was flying while being held inbetween the fingers while punching in CLOSE COMBAT!

Not all darts need feathers..!

Think this is were most post gets misunderstood and report on accident were only the relevant context of the sentenced is removed to state what the author want to get through

So seeing this is the Gyro thread, then this has obviously got something to do with just that ... gyros?

How about that game of darts then? 3 darts against me without Horisontal Stablisers, my 3 darts with HS's. I am not a good darts player but I favour my odds with the HS."

And....!

Qoute..

Jy lewer ook nie kommentaar op my uitdaging om pyltjies te speel nie - jy sonder stertvere. Jou stilte is oorverdowend en spreek boekdele"

Maby you should ask the same Question to Gyronaut....!

Seeing as I am being dragged into this by the Mocke's yet again, I have the following to say...

The discussion was about pitch stability in Gyro's and whether horizontal stabilizers are beneficial or not.

"The Chinese version of a Samurai is called a Wushi 武士 or Martial Warrior, usually employed by Lords, Kings, or as body guards who has loyalty to a Feudal Lord or a Duke."

Now we all know that Samurai's and Wushi's are extreme professionals that train for years and years to become proficient at their skill. Only a select few usually qualify.

Bladerunner, even if you had the skill of a Samurai or a Wushi (which you don't) my money is still on the guy with the darts with tail feathers against you with your wushi dart.
By implication you are suggesting that one has to be as skilled as a Samurai or a Wushi to fly a RAF safely. (**)

For once I agree with you. Sadly the average pilot is not a Samurai or a Wushi and therefore will probably hurt himself with your tail-featherless darts.

I rest my case.

PS, I suggest you read up a bit on Divergent Phugoid motion.

Petty brand bashing and personal insults have certainly not instilled confidence in trikers and others to progress to Gyros. Certainly none that I am aware of.

I've seen the Mockes display RAf's with skill and confidence and Len's display at Tedderfield was inspiring.

But Slings, Cheetas and Bushbaby's seem to be attracting activity though. Wonder why?

Just a thought.

Welcome Len..

Just to set the record straight.... Its not the Mocke's it just me Gavin Mocke....! The one that was'nt born yet according to you at the stage were you got your first license... ! 1989 if iam correct..!

You are are quite right, only the "select few" take the time and look pass the rumours and so called facts by the ingnorant.

And as you say... Training is the key... You should know this...2012 Head of training.....!!!???

Then... Who are you..... To even think and make a statement that i dont have the skill???? Ooo iam sorry you are Len klopper... No one dares Questions your statements...!

And as you said it yourself you are a average pilot with .9hours on type witch you know so much about... Sorry let me refrase that so there is no confusion... 54min...lets not get ahead of ours self by stating you have "hours" on type...!

On this forum was ones said "Mothers of RAF pilots gave birth to legends"

I suggest you start talking again when you have the expierance on my aircraft..... All of us can sit on the internet allday and read what the uninformed has to say like yourself.... Only some take the time and go and find out for them self what the truth is...

Only dead fish swim with the stream...seams you are one of them..!

Seeing that you are on the martial arts subject:

Eben snr 3 dan black belt owner of dojo for 10years
Eben jnr 1 dan black belt
Me..... 15 years of mentor ship through 2 profesionals

One can only take the punches for so long......! Iam done taking punches....!

Ps. I suggest you start reading up on what part of your gyro you are actually flying... (**)

Eben, at no time did I choose sides here, on the contrary... you have come out guns blazing against me as moderator and in retaliation to my request.

I tell you what, I'll excuse myself from this thread, report it to the rest of the MODS and see what they have to decide.... Let me remind all that the mods recently had a one on one conversation iro personal attacks and MORPH quite eloquently cautioned all and in that light I have cautioned - I don't have to explain myself to you for my actions.

In hindsight, are you referring to me as being "ignorant"?
