Table Bay Sunset Flight

My plane is in the workshop for it's 1000hr service... no plane = no fly!!! Unless of course you are a member of the gyro community where there is always someone willing to take you along for the ride!

As the cold front approached the Cape from the west yesterday the clouds and the light was just spectacular. A sunset flight was a must so Gyronaut, Learjet and myself headed skywards. Being a passenger I had plenty of time to take pictures and will be working through them for a while yet but here are a few:

Nice pics Jean. I still want to do a Peninsula tour in a gyro. Tinkerbell and myself are in Cape Town next weekend. If anybody has an open pax seat for their Friday afternoon or Saturday morning flight, please, please, -0< -0< keep us in mind.

WHAT?
I have two perfectly good serviceable Gyro's available for the two of you!!!
(The same two that Dave, Jean and I flew in) - doubt you will want to fly the Sycamore.

Tsk.

I will be most offended if I cannot take you guys around the Peninsula while you are here! If it requires a conversion onto the M16/M24/Sycamore before we go then we will do it - and I'll go along in the other machine. DONE.

Do you want to fly on the 3rd, 4th or 5th?

Lyk my julle vergeet gou julle het vrinne innie Kaap. ## sjoe

Pieter, skaam jou. Jy ken die waarheid. ;-)

Groete

Len

What an experience! Flying in the most beautiful Cape was a dream come true for us. Thank you, Len, for taking us around Cape Point and Table Mountain. Even the wind throwing us around a bit (well, a lot actually), couldn't mar the breath taking feeling of exhilaration! I am still smiling. Everyone flying around such scenery every day must never get blasé about it. Thanks again, Len!

Skaam jou Marius !
Mind you... nou dat ek weer n slag kyk... jy lyk bietjie benoud.

I think Tinkerbell said it all, a dream come true for us. Len & Christine, thank you very much for your hospitality and time on Saturday to make this happen for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
It was nice to meet Nick, thanks for the flip in your M24 and to see Mark B and Dave L again.
Johan, Xenon or M24, with the wind that we got around Cape point I was just glad it was a gyro.

I can confirm it was most definitely a smile, the same smile that I still have since Saturday's flight. People of the South, you are very fortunate, enjoy every moment.
Len, hopefully we can do this again when we come for our advance training.

Flynote,
:-) :-)

Julle vlieg altwee baie mooi.
Maak sommer gou weer so!

Len

PS. If it wasn't for Tinkerbells keen eyesight we would have missed seeing 2 different pods of Dolphins!
