New Gyro School - Cape Town
This is not an attempt at free advertising, it is simply to inform those who may be interested.
For the past two months I have waded through mountains of paperwork, read laws, paid fees, got to understand how it all works and finally registered an ATO (Approved Training Organisation in terms of part 141) in order to offer Gyrocopter flight training in my own school (in terms of Part 62). Agreement has been reached with the Western Cape Microlighters Club at Morningstar for the use of their facilities and an application is pending at Stellenbosch. I am confident that this too will materialise soon which will enable Gyro flight training to be offered from either airfield for convenience sake. I am of course able to fetch and return you to FASH or FAFK but the ferry will not count towards your training hours as the Autho Sheet is at Morningstar.
Please feel free to pop in to Morningstar for coffee and/or to say Hi. It is 10km from the N1 on the N7 to Malmesbury, take Van Schoorsdrift road right, after 800meters, turn left into Morningstar Airfield to say hi and come chew the fat anytime.
Thanks to Dave Lehr (Learjet) and his Tinfish Ad Agency for the stunning Logo.
Thanks to Braam Hechter and Fanie Keyser at CAA for all their advice and assistance and for going out of their way to help me get things in order. Your service is astounding. Much appreciated guys.
We offer Ab-inition Gyro training for the National Recreational Pilots Licence on open tandem, enclosed tandem and enclosed side-by-side gyro's as well as renewals and conversions on RAF, ELA, MT, Xenon, Sycamore and Magni Gyro's. We also offer Advanced Training which includes Operating Behind the Power Curve, Mountain Flying, Formation Flying and Display Flying.
Please contact us on 082 COME FLY for bookings.

Wel gedaan!

The person who says it can't be done should not interrupt the person doing it.

Thanks for the good wishes! I will do my best to expand our wonderful sport responsibly.
I have to add that we are privileged to fly. We are DOUBLY privileged to fly here in the Fairest Cape, just look at the view in the background while we were doing some Advanced Training recently and it wasn't even a clear day!
