The hang point is the point where the wing attaches to the undercart

Top of the pilon you will find one bolt (jesus bolt) attaching the wing to the pilon, there should be a safety cable attached as well

You will find three holes in the keel tube bracket and by moving the wing position aft or forward you will change the angle of attack of the wing which in turn will increase or decrease the lift or speed. Most of us fly with the bolt in the centre position which gives you the best of both worlds

Some of the new modified trikes have a electric motor attached to that part which enables you to move the wing forward and aft in flight

I didn't know the hangpoint is adjustable, is it a simple procedure to adjust this setting? Would setting the wing forward mean more lift and setting the wing back(in front hole) mean more speed.

Mile High, yes takes 10 minutes to adjust

Andre has given a good explanation of the change in centre of gravity

Moving hangpoint forward (Asume you are sitting in aircraft - Hangpoint forward, you will fly faster, typically 5mph per "hole")

If you move hangpoint back, you fly slower with better lift

Electronic trimmer now available +-R10k installed which moves the hangpoint in flight, I flew Larry Eschner's Aquilla hands off at 130km per hour (+-80mph) with one of these devices fitted, having said that it has a 912 engine

Now that's cool, but doesnt this electronic trimmer create a weak point in the hangpoint assembly. If it breaks, will you still be able to fly the trike?

Yes - All that will happen is the position you are in is where you will stay, so if set to fast, you will be landing FAST

Talk to Lamercyfly on this forum (Dave Daniels) - He really knows his stuff

Better still, why don't you and mo fly over and check it out yourself and take it for a test flight. We are opposite the sterkfontein caves, Krugersdorp

It is not my aerie so don't know too much about the aerie but it flies like a bom, used to belong to Sue Singleton. Placed the add on behalf of the farm/hanger owner

Advise: Don,t go in a GT 450 You will not want to fly anything else, I have done it and now Straydog is stuck with me flying his trike - even did my conversion. Now my Windlass is gathering dust although it is a very lekker Trike and handles exceptonally well.
In other words, only testfly what you can afford.
