Jab 2200 running problem

OK, so on a go-around two mornings ago - sudden application of full power - I had a loss of power, and the plane settled back onto the ground.
That evening, tried running up, and when getting to about 2500 rpm, engine starts running very roughly, coughing and spluttering.
Have spoken to jab factory, AP etc. No loose hoses or fuel lines. Jets clear. Same with scat hose inlet removed.
Exhaust very black and sooty - rich mixture.
Have removed carb, and am sending overnight to jab factory. Len wants to replace all jets, as for the 3300.
So, no flying for a while!
Have a great Christmas, all!
Cheers
LM

Know of a couple of Jab motors that had carb problems and had the carb replaced by the factory.

I have been wondering about the quality control recently on the Bing carb's. I have seen a few on new Rotax 912's that have such a poor quality of workmanship it is disgusting !! The general fit and surface finish on the internal parts are quite bad, a lot worse than some older ones I have opened.
Jab's and Rotax'es use Bing carbs.......

Hi Rudi,
Possibly Bing outsourcing the production to places in the east ,lekka low cost but buy 3 to be able to make one good one out of the 3.
I have spend more than a year in China and Taiwan in factories that were producing machinery for my company and all I can say is that quality is a vloek word to them because all the staff ,paperwork, adherance to basic standards gets in the way of PROFIT.
Inspect each and every part you buy, that you want to fit to your aircraft, because your life will be on the line.
Before taking delivery of a machine now, I or my boet fly over and inspect each and every component with a fine tooth comb, then only do we pay over the purchase price. Amazing thing with regular suppliers is, die donners het nie ore nie
Be very carefull.
Kind regards
Gunter Rostek.

Hi Gunter,
I believe you hit the nail on the head ! It does look like the newer bits and pieces come from a different factory so chances are it is from China or around there. Quite a sad state of affairs
I will inspect any new Bing carbs carefully, I have two that have not been used yet.
It is sad that these guys do not realize they are doing them selfs harm, I am aware of more than one car manufacturer who have closed down their plants in the east due to quality problems.
Kind Regards,
Rudi

Why not give the Aerocarb a go in place of the Bings? Can't hurt if you're battling with the things.

Haven't (yet) tried the aerocarb myself, but by all reports it is a great carb (once it is set up properly).
I have yet to see a Bing carb that does a really good job for anything but running around the patch. Fly on a really cold day, and EGTs go through the roof. Fly above 10000' and engine starts running slightly rough. The altitude compensation only seems to work for a relatively small band of temperatures and pressures.

Priester,
Will that carb be ok for Jab 3300?
Will an adapter plate be needed?
Does it have a mixture control?
Price?
Thanks

Have no idea, will have a look
Will an adapter plate be needed?
Depends, I really don't know
Does it have a mixture control?
If controlling the fuel supply to the carb by means of an adjustable or progressive closing valve can be seen as mixture control, then yes
Price?
Make me an offer
Thanks
Will try and post a photie

If your carb is a ACV-CO4 (35mm), and if you supply
more info, I wil make you an offer. New price = 395 USD
Will PM you then.

Checked, mine is an ACV - CO3 (32mm) so it will not be suitable. Aerocarb recommends the CO4, sorry.
