The hangblock assembly on my aerotrike safari with Spirit 2 wing has an odd creek to it.

Is it a bad idea to oil it with some Q20?

If there is a danger of a grinding paste forming (oil and dust) rather try something like Dry Lube from Spanjaard

Best is to use a

of graphite. Just slide the hangblock back or forward and give it a

of graphite. Stops the creeking. Don't use oil as it makes a mess and abrades the hangblock

Graphite? Not the same as in pencils? I read that this adds to the corrosion of Aircraft aluminium... Never write on yer metal with a pencil I recall?

Not sure about the graphite corroding the aluminium but the sleeve that goes through the hangblock is steel in the trikes I know of

Whoa hold them hosses cowpokes!!

No oil or graphite on ally. just end up catchin all the dust and before long you'll have a nice black smudge and a wearing part right were u dont want it. Best to leave it dry if you can

You MAY use a tiny bit of LITHIUM based grease when assembling the wing or putting on a new hangblock etc, but dont smear it on after the fact and try to work it in

With the lectric actuator installed, ive found best to just run it dry - it bothers me too, but its the lesser of the evils

Maybe steel sleeved keels will be ok i guess
