Been giving this one a bit of thought. I bought my Challenger 2 about a year ago which has wing socks on it. The wings have a Mylar protective covering which is peeling off in places. I have been concidering recovering the wings but changing to a stits wing. I have spoken to Boet as he is pretty good at that....just wanted to see what anybody else out there may have to say? Maybe somebody has recovered their Challenger wings etc? Did some pricing bringing in either new socks or stit kit from the states ....pricey!

Best thing you can do for your plane's looks. Mate in hanger next to me re-covered his Challenger (Monty did it). Before I wouldn't touch his plane with a stick and now its the envy of the field!

Skid my mate.
Have a close look at the inside of your wing and count the amount of crossbraces and ribs you have. Then go have a look at Steph's wing upstairs in the hangar. You will notice they are completely different in construction. Yours has fewer ribs and crossbraces.
The Mylar wings do not pull very tight on the structure of the wing. Stits does, and it will bend your wing without the extra support.
Adding more ribs should be easy, but removing the crossbraces and adding more is a no-no, especially if you leave holes behind.
Why not look at getting Jenja or the Cheetah factory to make you up a set of Dacron or even better Trylam socks for your wings. These will work perfectly.

Skid,
The lads who owned my clipped wing aparently had it recovered. Mine is covered in ceconite (excuse the spelling) and looks flipping awesome. Once covered though it needs painting... also bucks !!
Anyway point being that if you need more info give me a shout and i will gladly put yu in touch with them. Perhaps they can give you an idea of what it costs.
Cheers :D
