Guys,
Anyone with a bit of genius who has an old windlass tank with no petrol guage.
Without fitting a guage or leaning over to see levels which is difficult with side panel bags.
I thought of side mirrow like the caravaers use?

My old windlass had a mirror fitted by the left rear wheel....... served the purpose.

Hi blueangel,

on my Windlass I used a plastic 'blindspot eliminator mirror' - the type that you can glue onto your rearview mirror to widen the field of vision - from an auto parts shop and a ready to use brackets, nuts and bolts from a hardware store. Total cost about R15. Mounted it on the rear wheel spat bolts. Works perfectly until it gets dusty. Giving it a 'spit and polish' is part of my pre-flight.

In the meantime added a fuel-flow meter too and the two together give a real peace of mind about my fuel status.

Cheers,

V.
