Hi guys. Is any kind of lubrication required on ones hang block (between keel tube and nylon block)? Wing felt just a bit stiffer than normal when doing preflight. Pitch movement is fine, only roll that seems different.

I had same problem with Aquilla1 wing sqeeking when rolling. The pitching was alright only little sqeeking. This sound was very irritating to me. Somebody said that putting in lubrication causes dirt and dust particles to pack up inside causing other shit.

Dont know if Solo WIngs or Comet Aviation can supply alternate solution to problem.

Fully agree with the previous posters, a lubricant that attracts dust is not ideal.

There are a few options. Firstly, you can you use a wax spray used to lubricate motorbike chains. We found that the one distributed by Castrol is the least sticky. Problem is still that dust tends to stick to this and by doing so produces grinding paste but as said, the Castrol one is the least sticky it seems. Terribly expensive - more than R100.00 a spraycan I think.
Secondly, I have heard that some Teflon sprays also work - haven't tried it yet and I don't know how dry it gets to once again not attrack dust.
Thirdly, the best option in my view is GRAPHITE POWDER. You can virtually use this everywhere although it is commonly used in the locksmithing industry. I think you get small little bottles called "Just a Puff" by Viro or so. The only drawback here is when applied to much, it shows dirty but it is easy to clean as well.

Dry graphite lube is the way to go.

I used dry graphite powder on my trike hangblock last weekend!!! Worked like a bomb!!!! Bloody dirty stuff though!! Bought 1kg for R45 from my hardware store!! Will never finish it!!!

My Instructor told me to use clean water?? I did (on his trike) went quiet and never made a noice again.
