Hi Guys

http://www.ivoprop.com/inflightultralightmodel.htm

They are priced really well at about R7000 ex shipping and VAT for an in-flight adjutable prop

Hi Morph, contact John Waterson at Savanna Africa, I know he has fitted them to some Savs with 912 motors. I flew one for a short flip and it worked well, but I don't know the ins and outs...

Cheers Ian

Ingenious. Only thing I don’t like is that there is no direct indication of pitch setting (apart from the noise from up front). Do they give any indication of how many "flexes" the blades can take and brush and slip ring life?

In flght adjustable 65" three blader

Postby Jambo » Fri Dec 01, 2006 1:46 pm

I have one. :D
I will try it out this weekend and if it does not work for me as it is only a 65" three blade it might come up for sale.

Hi Morph!
Ja, the prop buzz is second only to the oil one...
CW has it that the Ivo is no great shakes performance-wise, see if the manufacturer has comparative specs, the Americans are not adverse to publishing that if it it is in their favour....
As I have posted sometime ago, there is something magical to Kiev props, like having a CS prop without the complexity. Ja, Warp claims the same and I long flew with one, indestructible but heavy and low efficiency. Powerfin was much better, but brittle and could not take SS leading edge protection, where Kiev has embedded brass LE standard and even better performance.
Talk to Dennis Southby before you buy.

Hi,

Never seen or heard about a Kiev prop. Can someone provide a little more detail please?

Update: Google to the rescue again

They seem to be expensive though - anyone in SA have a shorter version up for sale?

Dave and I are trying to get an allocation of ten or so props, (and spare blades) and will let the group know when they land.

Hi Gunter,

Thank you for the link - truly impressive stuff & definitely the way to go.
Dave/Abe, any idea on price when they'll land here?
