looks like Mammatus clouds. It is rare and you get this underneath a big Cumulus Nimbus, i.e. thundercloud, Cb

Ja I was also looking at that lot.

So can some of the clever people tell the rest of us what it is in simple terms :?: It looked like waves under the clouds.

Apparently the wavy, sometimes udder-like (hence the name, mammatus - mammory) appearance is as a result of down draughts within the cloud. Usually seen just after a thunderstorm has passed. Definately not flying weather

Morph, where the hell do you store all this knowledge. Almost every time someone seeks help on this forum you are one of the first to assist. I truly take my hat off to you. Well Done.

You know, some people (like me) appears to be overweight, baring a sparewheel/crash helmet/ love wart - or whatever name the uninformed would subscribe to it.

Truth is that some of us are very clever - thus requiring more strorage space for the knowledge - hence the additional bulk around the waste - easier to carry and not too far away from the control centre...  (!!)
