I feel like a virgin, my first post on this forum ever. I am the gyronaut Eagle refers to so wrecklessly exposing my name... then again, its boldly printed on the machine I love so much, who cares, WYSIWYG I say. Yes, we are looking forward to seeing Nick and the Gansbaai aviators here and we will probably be joining them from there onwards. ZU-EDN will be heavy but willing and very able.

Catching up with all the threads here takes absolutely hours,.. almost there and then I will begin to get to know everyone.

By the way, its not just a Gyro, its a Sycamore! Viva Proudly South African!!

Thanks for the friendly welcome guys! Well the weather put paid to most of our plans but Eagle1 and I did get some great flying done. He said he will post some pics.

Biggles, Nice to hear from you, perhaps we will meet in person one day and yes, it must be my Gyro since I have the only Sycamore at Fisantekraal (so far ... but watch this space). Did I mention that I love my machine?

Eagle1 is a big boy and I was a little concerned with our max-all-up weight being 210kgs. As it turned out it was a non-event. We were comfortably climbing at 500 feet a minute with 3/4 tanks and our take-off roll was about 50 meters. (one of the joys of flying at sea level but also an indication of the performance of the new Sycamore Eagle... did I mention I love my macine!?)

Clueless and Robin and Mark, it was nice to see friendly faces when we dropped in to Morningstar. Thanks for your hospitality and advice with my airlock problem and thanks for the coolant Clueless, I will replace it with beers.

To the pilot on Left hand downwind when I did a right hand circuit at Morningstar, I now understand why you stay to the east of the N7 and will comply in future but I couldnt hear you, sorry. (I did go around and do it right)

Generally a great weekend, thanks Eagle1. Go get your wings now, you have got it waxed already.

Len

Oops, correction, he was on right-hand downwind, I was flying a left hand circuit.
