Good afternoon everyone... MISASA has received the following statement from SoloWings. I would also like to inform folk that MISASA is formally assisting AIID and are in contact with the accident investigator. We are also facilitating information gathering that is normally part of an accident investigation.
From everyone at Solowings we offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends following the tragic and fatal accident of ZU-CBR at Marble Hall.

Solowings is closely monitoring the developments of the investigation of the accident. We must stress that it is an ongoing investigation by CAA and that we have no option but to wait for their outcome. On request of Solowings an independent industry expert was called to visit the accident scene to inspect the trike with the CAA and in order to assist the CAA with his vast and more specific information on trikes where needed to ensure a thorough investigation.

At this stage but again without final outcome from the investigation, it appears to have been a cable that gave way. As we do not oversee the continuing maintenance of the trikes after sale thereof, we cannot verify any details of the cable or the reason for its failure but it seems to have been a tragic and unfortunate accident.

There is no indication that the integrity of the design of the Aquilla is in question in any way. With over 1250 Aquilla’s and several hundred thousand hours with an otherwise impeccable safety record we remain confident in the design. Us as owners of Solowings / Micro Crafts Africa and who daily and personally commercially crop spray with the Aquilla, assure all our clients that we will notify you immediately should we feel at any time that there is a problem with any design that may warrant grounding our Aquilla trikes.

We will continue to monitor the investigation and report back if necessary in order to ensure the safety of our loyal customers
Once again sincere condolences and best wishes and prayers to the families and friends.
