Motorised Fledge, ZS-WCW. Sometime during 1986 over Phillip Van Niekerk's airfield, Sierra Romeo. Pilot....me
Landed at Sierra Romeo
Please note the avionics consisted of a Bird Feeder ASI (optional) and a kill switch...on the pipe to my right. Flying by the seat of your pants.

The microlight was built by George Killey and I bought her new in 1981, for R4250. She was originally powered by a Sachs 35Hp direct drive, 2T, engine, which performed well for a single seat configuration. In 1985, I fitted a second seat (the space behind me), the canard and the belt reduction drive Rotax single ignition 503. I never took a passenger. I flew about 100hrs in 9 years, without any serious incidents. She is still folded up and hanging from the roof of my garage. I don't think I will ever fly her again....one instructor told me, "it is life threatening to do a pre-flight"
