Eagles Creek - a viable alternative

Postby Rampant Rat » Mon Dec 03, 2012 2:55 pm

I was talking to a friend about buying a hangar at Eagles Creek just off the PTA/ Krugersdorp highway north of Lanseria. Does anyone own/rent a hangar there and would they recommend buying? There are many stories about these "Aviation Estates" and the hidden costs, unreasonable rules etc. What are your views?

I got a quote to hanger there. Well at R1900 for a Microlight, I decided to look somewhere else. Very nice place, nice runway (landed there a few times) perfect for me and not that far from Randburg, but cant justify the R1900 p/m.

Pm Big G on the forum, he keeps his sling and his GT450 there... then get hold of gaylord focker.... hes also just looked into the cost excercise -- may be worth renting but opinions are that a purchase could be problematic.... to do with lanseria's CTR>????? - dont shoot me, im just saying what ive heard.... if you arent 'all in" and can get out quickly other than the price, a nice viable alternative//

Don't forget to factor in a new set of brake pads each month for that downhill landing!!

Why land downhill? Land uphill and don't use brakes at all then you don't need new pads.

Rampant Rat -visit the airfield and see for yourself? Why not contact Armand, you have been given his number on Avcom.
