New comer

Postby le boss » Sat Jul 07, 2012 3:25 pm

Ok. This is the first time for me on the site. Really enjoyed all the topics and discussions posted since January 2012. One that stood out was “climb” who wanted to sell his plane and invited anyone to fly over to America to check it out….! It made for good laughs and I thought the guy was really screwing with all you oaks.
Time to introduce myself. My name is Louwrens and I have just started with my pilot training. Only done about 7 hours and still have a lot to learn but enjoying every moment of it thanks to a great instructor and aviator friends. Have flown before with some motorised gliders but admit the trikes really does it for me. I actually thought I’m to old (45+) to start with this new venture but soon realised that a lot of pilots are my age and older.
My first flight was exactly as described by some other learner pilots…! All sweat and sore muscles because the dam trike just didn’t want to go where I wanted it to go. After the landing my bladder had at least 15 Lt of excess fluids that had to be discarded at any available tree. Since then things have progressed and at least now I’m already doing circuit training etc.
There is still no aircraft on my name although I am looking. Personally I think it’s best to wait till after the first solo unless a hell of a bargain comes my way.

As you probably realised by now (spelling) I am actually Afrikaans so future posts might be in Afrikaans. It just makes it easier…!

If everything goes well I might be joining you guys soon up in the air. If the instructors nerves holds….!
And again. Thanks for all the interesting topics and good laughs

Welcome,

At last. Some new blood to hopefully resurrect some dying old farts and challenge their sense of humour.

I tried using 'the boss' at home home but did'nt work for me, just sneer remarks and comical response. Good luck with that one. :)

Taking an emergancy leak. Ever happened to anyone? Just landed at a strip, intentionally 100 metres short of your welcome committee and if you don't strip off your flightsuit soon you're gonna explode and just as you've opened the zip you hear running feet coming towards you so you walking around the trike having the mother of all slashers and as they follow you around with their oustretched hand in anticipation of their greeting your'e running away directing this never ending blast?

Happy days.

Thanks guys and gals. Already feel privileged to be part of this community.

Still doing my training at Bushveld Academy. (Potgietersrus). Will be based at Warmbaths if the little paper with my name on it is issued. I agree 45+ is not old but I can kick myself that I haven’t started sooner when I had the opportunity.

Hi Dish

Probeer die e-pos adres insit maar die blad blok hom…! Sal iets anders probeer.

l o u wren s k by telkomsa punt net:
I agree. Warmbaths is not to far and the sky’s are as blue as ever…..! Just been to our airfield this afternoon and thought about how nice a fly in would be. It’s really nice and clean and well maintained. In time to come I might just organise a fly in. (^^) (^^)

Hi tribal croc. Hel dit kan net lekker wees. Maar jy sal geduldig moet wees. Met my eerste vlug het ek daai trike maneuvers laat doen wat hulle nie gedink het is moontlik nie…! Op die stadium herskryf hulle die training manual.
