Abandoned projects and aircraft.

Hi Guys.

I thought I'd start this thread about abandoned or stalled project to see what was out there that could possibly be restarted or sold on so that it could be completed.

I have also noticed a few aircraft at our airfield that hasn't seen the outside of the hanger in many many months, some even years ago. I'm sure this is the same at every airfield

We at our respective airfields know about the projects or aircraft but don't put the info out there. If we did, it would save us the trouble of having to visit every field in the country to find that something we're after.

Having said that, I know of at least two aircraft at Klipriver that are looking for new owners. Both aircraft need attention but some of us dont mind that because that's all we can afford right now.

All the aircraft I have ever owned were rescued from a garden shed or plot or hanger far away. All these aircraft were returned to the air.

It doesn't matter if it's an old MAC CDL or a Basic 4000 or Cosmos. We need these entry level aircraft to get some asses in the air. We all started out somewhere and graduated to a better or faster aircraft later.

Lets pull together and rescue some of these projects and aircraft.

What Say Ye?

Can't blame them. Once you give up on/ abandon a dream, it is most impossible to recapture it again. hence the guys tend to hang on to their projects(dreams)

Between Jean, Hennie and myself at least four aircraft have been mentioned that could find new owners and potentially be returned to the air.
I'm not sure if Jean or Hennie has had any calls for the aircraft they've mentioned.
All I know is that a thead like this would have definitely got my attention if I was looking for a project.

By the way, I'm amazed at how few of my flying buddies know of or even visit Microlighters.

Come on guys. Take more note of what is parked next to your airie or in the hangers at you airfield. Not mention all the stalled projects in your buddies garages and garden sheds. You don't have to let him know. Let us know and we will do the rest.

Also, do you guys think we should move this thead to a dedicated heading like Members Projects with a better title or is it ok where it is. Just a thought.

Here is another aircraft looking for a new home. As far as I know it has been taken apart and stored in a garage. It also comes with a spare airframe and other bits.
I do have contact details.

Something that's been on my "to do" list for 1 1/2 years now. My Windlass 503 at Microland which suffered damage from a goose step landing. Wing sustained major damage. NC prop blades damaged, left axle bent. Engine ok. I'd like to either get it in the air, or sell parts off to get another one that'll get me in the air. Just haven't been able to afford the repairs & been standing for some time :(
