Hangar costs?

Anybody built one recently. I have tried to source an existing one but no luck (I need slightly bigger than T hangar   ). Rand's new expamsion plan is for T hangars so does not suit. Seems it FASI, FABB or Panorama for me. FABB is doooooozie and am told FASI space running out fast, but seems building is only option for da toy box. Have some quotes, but prices vary significantly (<R500/m2 to over R1000/m2). Anybody used GP based crew or if you are in the game drop me a line.

Obviously any comments and/or contacts appreciated. Erected within next 6 months providing I can source a site. Also need some help with the layouts to accomodate all the crap that one has collected over the years... looking at 21x14x5.5, or there abouts.

Hi RV,

Can't help you up in Gauteng but to give you a basic idea how they calc. Given a reasonable level piece of real estate, the preperation and pouring of the concrete should cost around R1500/m³ and at an average of a 150mm floor should be around R230/m². Now you have the floor only. Someone like Atlas steel normally charge in the order of R300/m² for steel frame, IBR roof and IBR sides (obviously the bigger the area, the cheaper per m² - up to a point). No electricity or toilets or gutters etc, yet. So yes, between R500 and R1000/² quite possible depending on type of door, added comfort etc.

The mag Farmers Weekly or Landbou Weekblad advertises a sh!tload of companies in your area that erect "sheds" and they are normally very competitive.

Good hunting.

Call Johan Maritz on 0828223179.
He is currently building, or helping to build one at FASY.
Looks like the same size as Brian Zee's.
