CAPE TOWN SPECIAL RULES AREA CEILING REDUCTION

Postby gertcoetzee » Mon Apr 03, 2006 11:41 am

From the AWSA newsletter.

4. CAPE TOWN SPECIAL RULES AREA CEILING REDUCTION

During last week the isueing of NOTAM A0730/06 (17/03/2006) has effectively lowered the ceiling of the special rules area under the Cape Town TMA to 2000 feet from the previous 2400. (The lower limit of the TMA is 2500 feet). There is some concern amonst GA operators that the change, although increasing the buffer zone, is increasing the risk of a mid air collision under the TMA. Areas with significant high ground, such as Stellenbosch, are worst affected.

Thanks for highlighting it Gert. I have also put this out on the WCMC events and the WCMC website.
