Understanding the sky
Recent posts with regards to questions on tailwinds (Piet Retief accidents), thermals (Highest altitudes in MPL), rotor, wave, cloud formations and what to expect when you are flying refer.
Dennis Pagen is a USA hang glider pilot who wrote most probably the best guide to understanding the sky for our type of pilots. It is written for micro-met pilots like us and the hang gliders.
Give me a show of hands and I will try to negotiate a good price based on quantities. I see that the internet price is $24.00 per book (less 20% for 5 or more, excluding postage) but I am sure (if quantities permit) that Dennis will better the price.
It is a book that will really help you understand the sky.

Re: Understanding the sky
I would be very interested for myself, and depending on how good it is, It might be good mandatory reading for my future pupils as well.

Re: Understanding the sky
I've sent a request for a quote on 20 books to Dennis.
Will let you all know as soon as I get it.

Re: Understanding the sky
Please count me in too. Been wanting to get this book for ages, but it seemed to be out of print for a while. Thanks!
