FLYING IN THE SEYCHELLES

I am planning a feral goat eradication program at the Aldabra atoll in the Seychelles at the end of the year. I will be requiring the services of an experienced microlight pilot that will be willing to fly an FIB (flying inflatable boat) over the atoll with the objective of locating goats. The pilot will have to out there for a minimum of 2 months and be flexible enough to stay for 3. He will be played R750 per flying day and R250 for no flying days (when weather is bad). All other expenses including travel accommodation and food will be covered by me. The pilot must be tough and willing to eat fish every day! Also, there are very few people and the pilot must be able to be good at problem solving and spending time in extreme isolation. Aldabra is the largest atoll in the world and is a world heritage site. Flying there is a lifetime experience and other travel related activities (fishing, diving, snorkeling etc. are unbeaten)
Will it be possible to put a notice out to attract applicants through your capacity? Do you have any comments or advice for me regarding getting a pilot out there? Does one need a conversion to fly the FIB?

Many thanks and all the best

I would definately consider it, but only if you supplied me with a R22. Why a microlight?? How do you plan on erradicating the goats? There are 2 proven ways namely:
1. Oelefse (spelling!!) method i.e mass capture (live and then deal with them once grouped, we have delt with 4000 Impala in 2 days with this method!!
2. Culling out of a chopper (a bit expensive though).

Good luck

PS Any snakes out there?? (I mean real live one's)

OH MAN this sounds like the opportunity of a lifetime!

Pity we have no boat-trikes around here that I can do conversion for!

Does the trike have foot protectors on to ensure the culler at the back does not give me a bullet through the foot when he/she is aiming through the scope?

We had a visit from a Vrystaat farmer who told us about shooting bokke from his trike while flying on his own  Seems the trick is to use the arm you are flying with to support the rifle! Not sure how you reload (or if he was having me on)
