Swartkop Fly-in 2nd October 2010

Postby mcfly » Mon Aug 16, 2010 10:37 am

Great news!!!!!....I have had a meeting with Col. Zurich at Swartkop AFB and he is totally in favour of us flying into the base. We have tentatively booked the 2nd October for the fly-in to coincide with the once a month fly-day.

I have been requested to determine the numbers as I (tongue in cheek) intimated that +/- 70 would show up. There will be two approaches to Swartkop ie. Pinedene for the east and a western approach to be determined. The ATC at Swartkop will be in touch with me to finalize the approach routes.
Arrival will start from 07h30 - 08H00 but this might change according to the no's involved. I have been requested to ensure that only ac with valid ATF and comms will be allowed to participate, needless to say this will also apply to Pilot Licences. I will pass on the info as I receive it from our good Col. Zurich.

Flight plans may be required so get yourselves aufait with the file to fly. Should a flight plan be required, I will post a flight plan on this thread for all to copy.

SO!! Gentlemen......Kindly PM me with the figures so that I may draw up a list with the necessary info. Do not duplicate or overestimate the numbers as I will need this list for the ATC at Swartkop.

N.B!... Please...! supply the following: no of Trikes, Reg no's, PIC.

I look forward to seeing all of you guys on the apron at Swartkop AFB!!!!

Les

I asked all the guys at Ingwe and Aero57 to send their names to me. I will then send one list from our airfields. Will make it easier for you.

Will send it asap

I have only requested for trikes at this stage. In fairness I think that we should leave it at that for the time being
