Anyone installed or used one of these motors? I am keen to assemble one to enhance the "learning" experience. Price looks maybe even slightly less than RATTEX 582 so could be used in BB for eg?, not that that is the idea. Looking to learn a bit more about what makes them go suck, bang blow.... (^^)

Comments?

If all goes according to plan, I should be building my Aerovee next weekend. Feel free to come around (Waverley, Pretoria), if you want to have a look.

As a general rule, if it flies on a Jab 2200, it will fly on an Aerovee - so it will probably work in a BB.

Put 1 together about a year or so ago, quite straightforward except for the aerocarb, which is ga-ga           . I eventually replaced it with a Stromberg, was afraid I wasn't going to live long enough to get it to function properly. It is still lying in the hanger. Setting the timing can be tricky as well.

I stuffed up by dual carby belcrank mechanism, and ended up wasting this weekend. I will try to catch up this week, so I can start the engine work on the weekend - will let you know.

(Only have 1 workshop, so I want to get all the metal work out of the shop, and everything cleaned before starting engine assembly...)

On what is it flying? I had Stormberg on the KRII and it worked well...
