I am moving back to SA permanently from Dubai and will bring my Sting with which means I must register it in SA, any idea how to go about this and secondly how do you choose a registration number to your liking, pending availability of cause

Get in touch with Colette van Zyl from van Zyl aviation, she has just organised for me to transfer my reg from 1 aircraft to another, very efficient and a pleasure to work with.
082 493 8692.

You either take what they give you or you pay R2500 and get to choose(depending availability as you say) and in the choose regs you are not allowed to pick ZS-R or ZU-R unless it is a rotor wing aircraft.
