Went online at about 07H45 this morning, zoomed right in from angle just behind and above the plane and saw the red track making a almost 90 deg to the left. Can kick myself for not making a screen shot of what I saw. All stright towards destination now  vhpy
Blame the profile tube, you had nothing to do with it. ##

They're nearly there, 60km from solid ground, the tracking unit is working now. And they are cruising at 116.55 knots. Nice 25knot tailwind, ETA 16h00 SA time, 30 minutes ahead of schedule 8)

Not sure that it is working- it may be though as we were able to get a message to them:

From Robbie Weich in Belem: Guys, I got one of the Commercial Pilots I know here to speak to the Belem Tower. The service that will monitor them is called Centro Amazonica. They advd that TAF is not yet in comm range, but have received info that their ETA is 11h08 local time - can this be correct ? Anyway, I will be in contact with Centro Amazonica again in abt an hour when I... Read more hope they would've been able to speak to TAF. Michael, I gave them the msg re the Sat Tracking system and they will ell M&J to reposition it like you adv, so lets hold thumbs that works.
Will revert with more updates when possible. The boys are gonna be on the 6 o'clock news tonight!! Two TV crews are heading to the airport as well to interview them :)
Cheers
Robbie

Looks like about 30 miles to run to destination. Over land in any case now so they are 'safe' although the last bit is all built up area. Hope congratulations isn't premature. (^^)
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

YAAAAAAAHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

What an enormous relief; aside from the other systems all being brand new I designed and installed an electrical system configuration that they were not initially happy with and I had to talk them into it (its a really good system- not all my design but a modification of a well argued system)... So relieved that nothing has gone wrong and that they're safe.

Only one word describes this in a South African enough way..... "Eish!"
