Wintervogel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Back after a long absence.
Had a great two days flying.
Saturday went out for breakfast along the coast landing at Buffelsfontein. The Delta Oscar x 2 Sierra left his camera at home. Water was clear and so many whales, dolphins and seals. Flew with Zirk and softness for the first time. Apologies for the no-photo day.
No camera so practiced some formation flying with Gert.
Sunday, out and up the coast with Trygve and pax, this time with the camera! Back down the coast to land at Jacobs bay where Shane and John were waiting with Hans to serve us coffee. Some good ground ATC work and a very short landing strip!! see Gert’s web.

I like that last pic off cource. The place where you and Gert had coffee with me is called GANZEKRAAL. Jacobs Bay is further north up the coast.
What a nice surprise it was to have my flying friends pitch up out of nowhere to have coffee. Thanks guys. It is times like these that you never forget!

ASI = 58 MPH..Grondspoed by tye 30 MPH.
Maak weer so wanneer die wind my kans gee.

Can anyone give us an update on the plans with the Wintervogel runway? I have ordered a new prop, and would hate it to be go the same way my warp has gone. Of all the runways around here, Wintervogel currently is the biggest culprit - more like an obstacle course at at moment, and scattered with rocks.
Gert, my prop is no longer an ivo-prop but rather a pratley prop as for pratley putty. The basic plan implemented at the moment, not costing an arm and a leg, is to get the runway covered with grass wich will contain any loose stones and prevent it from been thrown up.
In the meantime Andries undertook to roll the runway once a month pushing any loose stones into the ground and as for the grass humps the mower has now been set very low in order to cut any high humps down to almost ground level.
The pilots themselves also undertook to remove some of the very high grass humps manually and to "chicken parade" the runway regularly for loose stones, throwing them out.
Hopefully we can get the runway covered with grass asap but I also believe if we keep on removing the loose stones as they surface we might end up with a less damaging runway in near
future.

Hi.
I see this post is one past the “wine me dine me ……†number.
Saturday, Marius practiced to be air sick and as hard as he tried could not manage, well done.
Not nice to train in wind, don’t get despondent you did well under the circumstances.
Gert and Marius keeping the craft down.

Sunday even more wind so we sat around and spoke kuk for an hour.
Gents note the condition of the hanger and aircraft, safety starts right here!! Clean hanger, clean aircraft etc.

Fly safely.
