Alpha

Why not fly west of Jhb and you can hook up with us. Fly to Crosswinds and we will meet you there.

Zebula does not have petrol but we can land at Mabalingwe which is 5 miles away. They have a road that doubles as an airfield and you can taxi to their pumps.

Tribal will also arrange some fuel for us as well if we speak nicely to him (-)

Hi Alpha
Lets all meet at Aeroden and all fly from there. You meet with the Crosswind guys, from there to Aeroden. I will fly from Kroon to Aeroden. If we leave Aeroden at say 16h45, we will then form the Zebula Squadron from there. It is about 1.25 hours from there in our slow Trikes and should be at Zebula at 18h00. Long before dark.

I think it is the flying together idea of the whole weekend.

Good with me. A nice route from Aeroden is to fly west of Britz to Roodekoppies dam then just West of Klipvoort dam (otherwise we will have to climb to 2000ft agl), Straight over Ntokozo lodge to Zebula.

This is away from all the general training areas and fairly scenic.

Ok I have to go fly now

Hey Guys,

Well I am flying from Klip and I intend to leave on the friday at 3pm route west to Crosswinds, meet up with Thatch, Hawkeye and Madman and then on to Aeroden where we intend to meet up with Big D and Air Hog and hopefully Dish....

Any guys coming from Heidelberg or circus and surrounds? Thatch what is the final list looking like, have we got 12 "samoosa's" flying in?

So what is the agenda for the weekend? Fly in friday braai and fall down, saturday morning out to Ntokozo (TC's place) for a breakie...and then what?

Let us not miss the opportunity of this weekend thanks to Thatch... (^^) (^^)

Blue skies

Hi Alpha

So far 9 samoosas and 1 duck liver pate.

We can decide on the plan when we there depending on how much flying the guys want to do.

Scenic flight there on Fri
Braai Fri night (please dont let me burn any more of my furniture)
Sat we can fly along the base of the Waterberg, do a loop that gets us to the croc farm for breakfast.
After we get back how about a 20km run followed by 300 laps in the dam? vhpy
During the heat of the day we can chill by the pool, catch a burger at the clubhouse, check out the talent and wildlife.
We can discuss an afternoon flight - maybe Nylstroom, Warmbaths (No bodyshots Dish ## ) and back. Sunset flights are awesome up there.
Sat night we might have to braai again, talk more shait.

On a serious note, the terrain consists of a lot of bushveld so make sure you have new fuel filters on and use clean fuel.

Below is a pic of the runway. Our accommodation is right next to the runway next to that single hanger. (unfortunately I do not have a hanger so the samoosas will have to slum it.)

I am now really looking forward to it... (^^) (^^)

I am just about ready to start counting the days....I hope the weather plays along (**) (**)

If we fly to Mabalingwe we can get fuel right? Thatch, at what altitude is the airfield at Zebula, lower than 5000ft i am thinking?

I know Madman is also really looking forward...

I think its about 4200 ft

Mabalingwe does have fuel. I will phn and check that they happy for a swarm of us to land for fuel. I normally do so it should not be a problem.

I have spoken to the MD of Zebula. They do not sell fuel as a norm and have a 1000l tank for their own use. He is happy to help us out as a last resort if we need. I will remind him during the week before and they will fill up their tank.
